Over the last couple of days between revision and other things that fill my busy life I have been creating a new site. DailyTrains. It is designed to be a picture of the day site for people who enjoy trains. Its aimed at the UK market and features many UK trains, although I plan on doing USA and European trains in the future.
It will be updated every day. I try to find the best photos from the Internet and share them with you all. I hope you enjoy it.

I link to Amazon a lot in posts on MacTricksAndTips. This is because they are usually the cheapest and 99% of the time have the product I am writing about. As a result I have decided to sign up for Amazon’s Affiliate program.
The reason for signing up for the program is simple. I need more revenue to keep supporting this site. Normally I don’t like affilliate programs as it makes the site less trustworth as I would promote an affilliate link over a normal link. But due to the credit crunch and the down turn of advertising revenue I have had to expand the ways I generate money through this site.
In your day to day browsing you won’t see anything different, I just wanted to shoutout to you guys so you had a heads up. I like to be as transparent as possible.

This post is to tell you good people what is going to happen with the posting frequency on the site. Due to University near the end of the semester it was kind of hard for me to have a regular posting schedule. All is not lost. I plan to organise my time better and trying and get one post out every day.
For MacTricksAndTips I am going to have one post a day. It will probably end up being published around 8 o’clock UK time. They will not be massive in length but will be regular quick tips to keep you going. Every couple of days or weeks I will have a longer post. This will use my time more effectively. It doesn’t take a long time to write a post, usually an hour, but I have to squeeze so much in.
iLoveMacApps, will take a similar role but will be less frequent. This is because the site isn’t as popular and doesn’t have a massive amount of people to feed, as well as this it is also harder for me to get a good review out every day. It usually takes a couple of hours to thoroughly review a program. I can’t do this every day.
As a final note there probably wont be a post on Sunday for either of the sites. I would like a day off to do other things. As well as this it gives me chance to write a list of posts to do in the week an compile all of the resources needed.
So there you go. A MTnT post every day and an iLMA every other day, with Sunday’s off. So for all of the people who keep emailing me that’s the schedule and I will try and stick to it.
Welcome to Elvante. My personal site for bringing everything I do together. As my mini website empire grows I need a place to store everything and keep track of it. As well as this I also wanted away for visitors (thats you) to see what other things I do and how they relate to each other.
I wanted a site that sounded cool. I tired to find names that related to apple, but since every possible name for apple and all its varieties were taken I slowly moved onto different fruit names. But having found all the decent ones taken I just ended trying to find one that sounded cool. I headed off in the French sounding direction, since I like how French sounds. Having settled on vante by speaking random words in a French accent, I decided to add “el” to the beginning of it to make it more speakable. Conicdently I only found out once I bought the domain, that “vante”, in French means brag. Fortuently “el” doesn’t mean “I”. Otherwise I the domain would be “I Brag” which wasn’t the angle I was intending for.
This site, for the most part, will be pretty static. It wont be updated every day like my other sites. But this blog will feature every so often a post by myself for what I am doing, what I am planning and general bits and bobs in my daily life. I didn’t want to clutter my other sites with the random doing’s. They will be featured here instead.
I suggest you subscribe to the RSS feed. Since this site won’t be updated everyday its the best way to keep track of everything.
